sorry, I was referring to the proposed system which will be used in phones - it squawks to the network letting the network know it is still alive and the triangulation is done on these signals by satellite recievers
This system wouldn't work with traditional gps if it is a passive system
i've received one or two for being "unpatriotic" .
over not "believing in jesus (supposedly), all as a pretty small kid.

i have become so much more independent and in some ways demanding as i have stopped being a jw.
there was a time when i was literally a doormat for my first husband.
but i have found from being single and then add to that losing the grip from the jw rules, i have become more independence and in many ways more of an opinion.
I'm alot more chilled out than I ever used to be. After coming out of the dubs and the extreme repression I became very militant when I felt put upon. Now I am more prepared to let things slide and weigh up whether or not it is worth causing an arguement over

Very cool. I like Bright Eyes by Art Garfunkel for a funeral. It's song they played in the animated movie Watership Down when one of the rabbits was near death.
I like that too but I don't want everyone being sad at my funeral. I was going to have barber's 'Adagio for strings' which is a haunting piece of classical music used in Platoon and my fave piece of music, it would definitely be atmospheric. I've decided that at my funeral I want people to celebrate my life and remember the cool stuff, not that I'm not around any more.
Nouveau cuisine (remember the miniscule portions dished out by the stingy hair-netted plastic-gloved sisters when they used to serve hot food at assemblies?)
Hell that was so many years ago.They only stopped doing this because people would queue up before the prayer so they could get served reasonably quickly. It always tasted of plastic too!
its been a while but i wanted to tell you that ive just got engaged to a great girl.. while i love her, her family are pressuring me to set a date and book a hotel!
im only engaged 4 days so i think its out of order.. please give me suggestions on how to deal with mother in laws without ending relationships.. her mother is insisting on church, cake, food and tells me her son has to be in the bridal party.
they want me to go to thier church sio i can get married thier , but as you kinow im not keen to join another church so quickly.. i only wanted to show her i loved her and was serious, but not this serious so soon.. am i wrong ?.

I got married in september and had exactly the same problem. We set the rules from the outset and at one point I got so cheesed off with interference I was quite rude to my MIL and embaressed her into silence in front of the whole family.
Set the ground rules early and make sure they all know it's your and your fiancees decision

It IS a question of perspective and we are never going to agree on Bush or Iraq. I would however be interested to see dollar figures per capita on how much it is costing you to have so many troops in Iraq and how much it is costing me to have UK troops there too.
The one thing I have to take issue with is that the rich don't pay alot in taxes. They have enough money to pay smart accountants to hide most of it and avoid the proportional burden that you and I shoulder. I am damn certain that Cheney and his cohorts don't lose anywhere near the same percentage of their income as you or I do in income tax etc.

the way it works is with radio signals. When you warm up your gps unit it squawks a signal that is picked up by several sattelites which then triangulate the signal's position in the same way as you would triangulate a position using land based tracking systems. That's why you get a delay - it takes a minute to lock onto the right frequencies for the sattelites in your current hemisphere. Once you are logged with those sattelites you can then have your unit send regular signals (say one per minute) to recalculate your position. This works whether it's in your pocket or not. Ever had a cellphone start ringing in your pocket?
